Event viewer

The backup agent writes events in the Windows event viewer, “Applications“ log. The events are related only to backup end or an error during backup. These events have the following characteristics:

The level reflects the severity:
- Information: no error
- Warning: the operation is successful, but there may some items to review
- Error: something prevented part or whole of the operation from succeeding

Each event is composed of a code followed by a text:

2.1.1.10.1.0 : transfer end

In this exampple, the code starting with 2.1.1.10.1 indicates a backup end, final 0 indicating a regular end (no timeout or abort). There are two code categories written:

2.1.1.10.1.* for backup end
2.1.10.* for miscellaneous errors during backup.
